Askîy (pronounced uss-kee) is earth in Cree.
Askîy is where life begins and where it returns. In Cree teachings, the Earth is our first mother, provider, protector, and teacher. She nourishes our bodies with food and medicine, and grounds our spirits with her steady presence.
Our Earth Body Wash Bar: Askîy is a tribute to that relationship. It’s an invitation to come back to stillness, to remember where we come from, and to carry that rootedness with us every day.
The Scent: Wild Berries & Forest Basil
The earth gives us both sweetness and depth. This scent opens with the ripe, sun-warmed brightness of freshly picked summer berries, the kind you find growing low to the ground, close to the soil. Underneath, a herbal heart of fresh basil and soft lavender grounds the sweetness with its clean, earthy green.
You’ll find a burst of juicy berry at first contact, a mid-note of cool, grassy basil that anchors the sweetness to something real, and a clean, lingering finish that feels nourishing and alive.
It’s bright but grounded. Vibrant but rooted. A scent that reminds you where abundance comes from.
What It Does
Askîy is formulated to soothe dry, tired skin with gentle, plant-based cleansing, centre your senses and calm your energy, and leave a light, living aroma that lingers like a memory of summer.
Whether you’re starting your day or washing off the weight of it, this bar is your moment of reconnection.
Why our body wash bars aren't soap (even really good soap)
The difference comes down to chemistry. The process that turns oils into a solid bar, called saponification, produces a pH around 9-10, which is well above your skin's natural pH of around 4-5. That gap is what causes the tight, dry feeling after washing. Our bars skip that process entirely. Coconut-derived cleansers, never saponified, clean effectively at a pH your skin doesn't have to recover from. Dense lather, genuine hydration, and skin that feels balanced after every shower in a long lasting, concentrated format.
The Art of Iskôtêw
The elemental series features original artwork by Indigenous artist Tristen Jenni. Their signature geometric motif, rendered in each element’s own palette, runs as a single visual thread through the collection, a reminder that Fire, Water, Earth, and Air are not separate things, but one system. We chose to work with Tristen because supporting Indigenous artists is part of how we honour the traditions and teachings that inspire this line. Find Tristen on Instagram @tristen.jenni.art.
Why We Chose Askîy
To walk with respect for the land means honouring its gifts. The earth provides everything, the berries we harvest, the herbs we tend, the soil that holds us all. When you use this bar, we invite you to slow down, offer gratitude for what the Earth provides, and remember that you are never separate from the land. You are part of it.
Say the name: Askîy
Breathe it in. Speak it with intention. This is more than skincare. It’s ceremony in your daily routine.
